Hitman: World of Assassination has released its newest limited-time Elusive Target mission, titled The Host, which features Irish YouTuber Jacksepticeye. Available from October 29 until November 25, this free add-on is part of a series of missions that incorporate well-known actors and entertainers into the game's narrative. Previous entries in this year's lineup have included hip hop artists Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dogg, as well as actress Milla Jovovich.
In The Host, Jacksepticeye, whose real name is Seán McLoughlin, portrays Finn Colton, a character known online as Finnvictus. Colton is depicted as a controversial yet popular former child star and content creator who is suspected of murdering a fellow creator who has since gone missing. The mission's client is a relative of the missing person who hires Agent 47 to carry out the assassination. McLoughlin, who boasts over 31 million subscribers and 17 billion total views on YouTube, described the experience as stepping into the World of Assassination after playing with his community for years. He noted that his character is loud, paranoid, and obsessed with content, calling the role an absolute blast.
The gameplay requires players to go undercover as Agent 47, posing as Tobias Rieper, a reclusive millionaire who appears on Colton's Finn and Friends podcast. To access this special mission, players must have previously unlocked the Hawke's Bay location within the game. The release of The Host marks the beginning of a new season of content for Hitman: World of Assassination. This season includes five challenges, the return of previous Elusive Target missions, a Twitch Drops campaign, and a paid themed DLC offering new cosmetics and permanent access to The Host.
Hitman: World of Assassination is available in virtual reality on Steam and PlayStation VR2. The Host mission is included as a free add-on during its limited window and is also part of the game's free demo.
